Welcome to Freshford
FRESHFORD
(Achadh-Ur), is located approximately 14 km north west of Kilkenny City
along the R 693 regional route, which links Kilkenny with Urlingford, Johnstown,
and Thurles in the north west of the County.
The Village is bisected by the river Nuenna, which is an important tributary of
the river Nore. To the south-west
are the Slieveardagh Hills and the fertile Nore Valley.
The parish of Freshford consists of the civil parishs of Freshford, Clashacrow
and Garranamanagh and part of the parishes of Odagh and Ballylarkin.
